The entry into the fabulous world of DW. For the DESIGN SERIES™ Drum Workshop has combined all of its experiences from the custom sector into a clearly defined line of high-quality drums.

Four different configurations are available: the five-piece design standard set, the visually particularly exciting five-piece acrylic set, the extremely travel-friendly club kit Frequent Flyer™ and the charmingly small Mini Pro Set (available with 16" and 18" bass drums).

All versions have the strikingly powerful and modern sound in common. The wood shells are made of North American Maple, the layers of which are bonded using DW's brand new HVLT® method.

All design sets are also equipped with groundbreaking Pro features: The patented Suspension Tom Mounts (STM)™ allow the toms to vibrate freely and with only minimal dampening. The MAG™ snare lift ensures simple and reliable handling of the snare carpet. And the True Pitch® tuning screws allow the finest tuning of the standard DW heads, made by REMO USA.

The sound palette of the series is rounded off by some innovative and exciting add-ons, such as the pancake gong drum, the pancake bass drum, the concert and piccolo toms and a black nickel over brass snare.

For the right look, five different, high-quality paint finishes and two finish Ply™ foils are available.

Lacquer:

Lacquer offers an excellent selection of high gloss and satin finishes. Depending on the series, the highly durable paint is applied to the shells by hand (Performance™) or by machine (Design™) to give them their unique and elegant appearance.

Every type of finishing, be it a variant of oil, foil or varnish, has well-founded advantages. But one thing is certain: the high-quality lacquer treatment gives your valuable instrument an aura of very special exclusivity and extravagance and will always ensure deserved admiration.
