The transport, space requirements, and PA-connecting of the corresponding speaker cabinets are very cumbersome. TINO S promises a solution. The switching system allows two amplifiers to be used with one speaker cabinet. It doesn't matter whether tube amplifiers, which always require a load, or solid-state models are used. A mixed setup is also easily possible.
Switching between the amplifiers can be done via a push button on the device, an optional standard footswitch, or a switching system. If switching is not done via a switching system, a standard footswitch can be connected to the corresponding jack socket. (A switch is required, not a push button!)
TINOS routes the guitar signal to the desired amplifier. Simultaneously, the unused amplifier is short-circuited at its input to prevent unwanted interference. (This is equivalent to turning down the guitar's volume knob.) The gain from the instrument input to the output is unity (one). The built-in buffer only converts the impedance, making the high-impedance guitar signal less susceptible to interference. Simultaneously with the guitar signal switching, the speaker cabinet is switched, and the speaker output of the muted amplifier is connected to a dummy load. This ensures that tube amplifiers are completely protected from dangerous no-load operation.
When two amplifiers are connected together, a loud hum often overlays the guitar signal. This unwanted effect is known as a ground loop, which occurs between mains-powered devices due to double grounding. To eliminate this faulty behavior altogether, the outputs to the amplifiers in the TWO IN ONE are decoupled via high-quality isolation transformers. A smooth switching mechanism between the amplifiers also ensures that the process occurs without any popping noise from the speaker. Power is supplied via the included 9V power adapter.
