The handle of the Timpani mallet TT 102 is made of Tonkin, a special type of bamboo that is straightened and hardened over an open flame. The mallet is 385 millimeters long and the stem has a diameter of 10 millimeters. The head of the TT 102 timpani mallet is hard. The felt is carefully sewn by hand around a cork core.
