Features of the 1847 CLASSIC - Wilde Rock Tuning:
- Full, loud and overtone-rich sound with easy and quick tone response thanks to stainless steel reeds.
- Tuning stability and lasting durability, even under extreme strain, through the use of stainless steel for the reeds and rivets.
- Significantly lower air consumption thanks to reed plates manufactured using fine-cut technology, optimized flatness and minimal tolerances between reeds and reed plate.
- Unmuffled sound emitted through the sound cover, which is wide open on the back without bars. The sound covers are made of extra thick stainless steel sheet (0.4mm) and are completely crimped, giving them the necessary stability.
- Lip and beard friendly design thanks to sound cover with corners without cuts on the side of the mouth and ergonomically shaped, slightly pre-domed, rounded comb openings.
- Insensitive to moisture thanks to the swelling-free maple comb body, which has been repeatedly sealed with food-safe varnish.
The 1847, a harmonica that impresses with its innovation and yet meets all traditional requirements - a master instrument that combines successful design with excellent playing characteristics, voluminous sound and previously unknown longevity and in this combination sets new standards.
The special Wilde Rock tuning allows you to play hard rock and blues rock licks smoothly.
In detail: Channels one to five are unchanged compared to the Richter tuning.
Holes six, seven and eight have the same tones as those in chambers two, three and four (an octave higher).
Cell 9 has the same structure as hole 2 (two octaves higher) and in cell 10 the blowing and pulling tone have been swapped for the Richter tuning, so that the expressive bending in 10 is now a pulling bend!
This setup makes playing the minor pentatonic and blues scales much easier: you don't need overblows/overdraws to reach the minor third and diminished fifth in the upper octave.
These notes are now easy-to-play pull bends.
