VINCENT BACH was an Austrian trumpeter who emigrated to the USA at the beginning of the 20th century and made a career there, among other places in New York. He had very high standards for his playing and his instrument, but couldn't find mouthpieces good enough to meet his goals. Unwilling to accept this problem, Bach began developing his own mouthpieces of unprecedented quality. The musician became a producer of state-of-the-art equipment for wind players. Building on this success, the first instruments designed and manufactured by Vincent Bach according to his own vision of perfection soon followed. With these creations, he made a significant contribution to the development of modern brass instruments and set a quality standard by which instrument makers worldwide are still measured today.
