All the experience we gained in developing and perfecting our handcrafted professional models is incorporated into the design of our intermediate and standard flutes. These flutes, carefully adjusted by hand and test-played by experienced craftspeople, are more than just affordable versions of our professional flutes. We developed these flutes based on the idea that beginners have specific needs and that nothing is more frustrating than learning to play on a less-than-ideal instrument.
For young students, it is very important to be able to produce beautiful tones as quickly and easily as possible. Equally important is that these instruments are accurately and precisely intoned so that their ear can develop properly. These flutes help the student progress quickly.
Good to know:
CY Headjoint:
The CY headjoint has a polyconical shape, and the embouchure hole is specifically undercut. This ensures excellent response and a warm, rich tone, helping beginners to quickly produce a beautiful sound. More advanced flutists will appreciate its even, fast response across the entire register.
Keys:
All key shapes and placements have been ergonomically designed for comfortable, natural playing. The manufacturing processes have been completely redesigned to achieve significantly improved precision, resulting not only in greater mechanical accuracy but also minimizing the need for time-based adjustments.
Adjustment screws:
Yamaha's unique adjustment screws allow for smooth, even adjustments and prevent accidental loosening. The position of the screws was also adjusted to allow perfect access.
The "E-mechanism":
The E-mechanism is an additional lever that makes playing the high E more precise and easier.
The "advanced G":
This key position allows the instrument to adapt to the ergonomics of the hand and is now standard on every good flute.
