Virtual circuit modeling and FM engine for authentic organ sounds with real-time control thanks to nine drawbars, new waterfall keyboard with 61 keys, top keyboard sounds and effects in exceptional quality, only 7.1 kg weight. The stage keyboard — completely reinvented!
Designed specifically for the live keyboardist, the YC Series delivers a completely redesigned organ engine with physical drawbars based on Yamaha's Virtual Circuitry Modeling (VCM). The setup is complemented with generous real-time control as well as authentic pianos, electric pianos and FM synth sounds.
VCM ORGAN
How to reproduce a warm and authentic organ sound with a compact stage keyboard? You first create an organ engine like only Yamaha can do - and this from the ground up! Yamaha packs three models of your favorite classic organs with plenty of vintage flair into a single, powerful instrument. That's not enough for you? Get under the hood of your YC and adjust key click, pickup crosstalk, rotary speaker speed and other parameters to create your own unique sound.
VCM ROTARY SPEAKER
The YC series includes the authentic sound of a classic rotary speaker - and fortunately also completely maintenance-free. Make your choice between two faithfully reproduced rotary speaker profiles — crystal clear or 'dirty and aggressive' - and control the separate rotor speed for the corresponding tweeters and woofers.
VCM EFFECTS
Virtual Circuitry Modeling (VCM) simulates the sound and behavior of vintage effects and high-end studio signal processors through precise circuit modeling of the originally analog components.
FM ORGAN
In 1983, Yamaha introduced the legendary sounds of FM synthesis (frequency modulation) to the world at the premiere of the DX7. The YC61 now integrates FM synthesis into an organ for the next generation of musicians. Switching to the FM organ section transfers the control of the 8 operators to the integrated drawbars, allowing full control over the sound and its massive low end. Rotary speaker and amp simulation effects can also be added for more character and vibe. Intuitive operation makes creating and discovering new sounds child's play. Based on three popular FM organ modes, you can also bring classic transistor organ sounds with a warm to lively character back into the here and now.
WATERFALL KEYBOARD
The YC61's authentic waterfall keyboard design is the result of a meticulous analysis of traditional organ keyboards and rich feedback from top international keyboardists. However, the newly developed keyboard on this basis not only offers the playing feel of a real organ, it also allows artists to express their music using acoustic piano sounds, electric pianos, synth leads, brass sections and many other sounds.
DRAWBAR
The control path and grid of the nine drawbars of the YC models correspond exactly to what you would expect from a real organ. Transparent locking points and customizable color LEDs also make it easier to distinguish between simulated upper and lower configurations in split mode. The virtual set of drawbars not only enables increased flexibility, but also a variety of selection options that you would otherwise never expect from such compact stage keyboards.
DIRECT AND COMPREHENSIVE SOUND CONTROL
The YC series was designed for long jam sessions, not long menu dives. The intuitive interface enables quick and easy implementation of splits, layer sounds and sound modifications directly via the user interface. Versatility doesn't always have to be accompanied by complicated operation.
COMPUTER/iOS
The YC61 has an integrated USB-based audio and MIDI interface for connection to Mac, Windows or iOS systems. With a single USB cable, audio and MIDI signals from the YC-61 can be recorded and played back using a connected DAW and virtual instruments can be controlled.
