What’s new

The third generation raises the bar

Five things that set the G3 apart from its predecessor, the MAUI 44 G2.

01

Fully active 4-way system

Four separately amplified bands crossing over at 200 Hz, 700 Hz and 1.8 kHz – each driver group only plays what it does best.

02

New neodymium subwoofers

15" down to 34 Hz or 18" down to 28 Hz, plus flow-optimised elliptical bass reflex ports: punchy and precise without port noise.

03

More midrange drivers

14 × 3.5" in the 44 G3, 16 × 3.5" in the 66 G3 – two of them sit above the tweeters and carry the mids further.

04

Waveguide & horn-loaded mids

BEM-optimised waveguide with new phase plugs at the top, horn-loaded mids at the bottom: an even 120° × 25° and higher efficiency.

05

DynX® DSP Gen. 2

Peak, RMS and thermal limiters keep the sound distortion-free even at full volume – plus Bluetooth® 5.4 with SBC and AAC.

Four ways, four amplifiers

Instead of one column doing everything at once, the G3 splits the signal into four bands. Each band has its own drivers and its own amplifier – for more headroom, clarity and clean transitions.

  1. High> 1.8 kHz4 × 1" compression drivers on the BEM waveguide
  2. Mid700 Hz – 1.8 kHz6 × 3.5" (44 G3) or 8 × 3.5" (66 G3) in the upper column

Cardioid

More sound for the audience, less on stage

The column’s passive cardioid design focuses the energy forwards and attenuates the rear by up to 18 dB between 100 Hz and 1 kHz. The result: less feedback, less mush on stage and fewer reflections from the back wall. Add a second subwoofer to extend the principle into the low end.

FAQ

Quick questions

Tap a question to open it.

What is the difference between the MAUI 44 G3 and MAUI 66 G3?

The MAUI 66 G3 has an 18" instead of a 15" subwoofer (bass down to 28 instead of 34 Hz), a little more power (3800 instead of 3600 W peak, 135 instead of 133 dB) and two extra midrange drivers above the tweeters for more throw. The MAUI 44 G3, on the other hand, is around 10 kg lighter.

What does the cardioid column do in practice?

It attenuates sound to the rear by up to 18 dB between 100 Hz and 1 kHz. Less reaches the stage – which reduces microphone feedback and keeps the sound cleaner for the DJ or band.

Can I add a second subwoofer?

Yes. A MAUI 44 G3 SUB or MAUI 66 G3 SUB connects via the sub out. Turned backwards with the cardioid preset, the bass becomes directional too; facing forwards, it adds up to +6 dB of bass.

Do I need cables between subwoofer and column?

No. The column elements simply plug in, the connection runs through the contacts without cables. The column is detected automatically.

When will the MAUI 44 G3 MIX be available?

According to LD Systems, from mid/end of December 2026. The MAUI 44 G3 and MAUI 66 G3 are expected from end of October/early November 2026.

Can two MAUI 44 G3 MIX be linked?

Yes, via SysLink®. Two systems become one stereo setup with 16 input channels, controlled centrally from the display or the MAUI MIX app.

Which Bluetooth® does the MAUI G3 have?

The MAUI 44 G3 and MAUI 66 G3 use Bluetooth® 5.4 with SBC and AAC codecs. The MAUI 44 G3 MIX also has Bluetooth® audio streaming on board.
