Cort KX500 Baritone
More tension, more punch, more definition
Longer scale, Seymour Duncan pickups and uncompromising hardware: the new baritone guitar in the KX series for metal, prog and everything that goes lower.
Low tunings without compromise
On a standard guitar, low tunings quickly turn muddy: the strings lose tension and notes blur, especially with high gain. The KX500 Baritone solves exactly this problem.
Its extended scale gives the strings the right tension, so drop tunings feel natural. Add pickups, hardware and woods designed throughout for definition and stability.

What makes the KX500 Baritone
Four building blocks, one goal: maximum definition in low registers.
Okoume meets English walnut
Lightweight, resonant okoume delivers clear lows, even with heavy distortion. The English walnut top adds a striking grain, and the open-pore matte finish lets you feel the wood.
28.03″ for the right tension
A 712 mm scale gives low strings enough tension for clean notes, without making the guitar feel unfamiliar. It ships strung with D'Addario EXL157 (.014–.068).
Fast, stable, easy to read on stage
Five-piece roasted maple and walnut neck with a D profile. Macassar ebony fretboard with a 15.75″ radius, 24 stainless steel jumbo frets and luminous side dots.
Stays in tune, even when you dig in
Cort locking tuners, a Graph Tech Black TUSQ nut and the new Cort hardtail bridge with string-through body: for sustain, resonance and reliable intonation. All in black.
Seymour Duncan for high gain
A matched set of Seymour Duncan Sentient (neck) and Nazgûl (bridge), designed for modern high-gain sounds – from clear cleans to uncompromising distortion.
- Configuration: HH, two humbuckers
- Controls: 1 × volume, 1 × tone with push-pull coil split
