The PDI 03 JB Speaker Simulator is a professional, passive DI box with speaker simulation for guitarists. It connects between the amplifier and speaker or a suitable dummy load. It delivers a frequency-corrected balanced signal for direct connection to mixing consoles and sound cards. Suitable for stage, studio, and home recording, the PDI 03 JB eliminates the time-consuming and problematic process of microphone recording. Specifically designed to meet Joe Bonamassa's exacting standards and deliver a powerful yet clearly defined tone, the DI box's exclusive JB switch provides extra boost and maximum presence. With two precisely tuned three-stage filters, the PDI 03 JB authentically replicates the frequency response of classic and modern loudspeakers and cabinets. The input sensitivity can be adjusted for amplifiers up to 200 watts output power, as well as line-level and instrument-level devices. The PDI 03 JB delivers a consistent guitar sound in live applications and, in direct recording, also imparts the typical sonic characteristics of loudspeakers to preamps or overdrive and distortion pedals. The robust DI box in a black powder-coated steel housing is equipped with extremely reliable Amphenol connectors; a ground lift switch prevents hum from ground loops. For direct recordings WITHOUT a loudspeaker, we recommend the Palmer Power Attenuator PDI06 or the Palmer Dual Load Box PLB2X8 as a dummy load (ensure correct impedance).
