The Guiro Tone Block is an extended form of Tone Blocks. The sound body is grooved like the classic scraping instruments and can be drummed with a wooden mallet like the conventional tone blocks.
In addition, you can stroke the handle of the mallet over the grooves on the surface of the sound body, like with a guiro (ratchet). As a mixture of a tube drum and a ratchet, this instrument opens up many more playing possibilities and complements the sound spectrum in the instrument case. The combination of the two different playing techniques (hitting and wiping) has a positive effect on the player's coordination skills.
The Guiro Tone Block is made of fine, local beech and is finished with a wafer-thin varnish. The paint is of course tested and is suitable for even the smallest children and is harmless (saliva and sweat-proof).
The most important features at a glance:
- Material: Beech
- Treatment: painted
- Color: natural
- Length: 210 mm / 8,274′
- Diameter: 44 mm / 1,734″
