Product Description

n the way it produces sound, the Rakatak is similar to the maracas. You hold the handle in your hand and make rattling movements back and forth. However, the sound is fundamentally different. With the Rakatak there is no filling, but rather a hollow sound body that is open at the top and has a mallet inserted through it. With the movement, the mallet strikes the sides of the sound body, producing the characteristic sound that is reminiscent of the patter of a horse or the clatter of a rattlesnake. With just one note per movement, the Rakatak enables children to make precise and accentuated music.
