Product Description
"When I connect the inputs of my two amplifiers together, there's a loud hum." This or a similar question is frequently asked in the technical sections of relevant trade magazines. The Palmer Y-Box offers a solution to this problem. A FET input circuit converts the high-impedance guitar signal and simultaneously forms the driver circuit for a transformer that routes the signal to the output without ground – thus eliminating a ground loop. Operation with a 9V battery is recommended. The PGA03 Y-Box can also be used as a cable driver for long cable lengths. Furthermore, the signal from output AMP2 can be switched out of phase, which is usually necessary when connecting two out-of-phase preamps or integrated amplifiers in parallel.
