For bands and DJs, column systems have triggered a true revolution in numerous applications. It has never been easier to evenly fill large rooms with sound using a small and unobtrusive PA system. With the MAUI® 44 G2 W, the professional segment is now also being served by these practical and powerful sound reinforcement systems.

The MAUI® 44 G2 W from LD-Systems is the flagship of the column PAs in the MAUI® series and offers a generous 1,500 watts of total power (RMS) with a frequency response of 37 Hz to 20 kHz and a sound pressure level of 132 dB (peak). With its outstanding sound characteristics and diverse functions, this compact column PA is ideal for rental companies, musicians, small clubs, street festivals, and permanent installations. The cardioid characteristics of the column elements, as well as the option of adding a subwoofer to achieve a cardioid effect in the bass range, further underscores the professional aspirations of this sound system. The column achieves a rear attenuation of 18 dB, while the subwoofer achieves 15 dB. The MAUI® 44 G2 W sets the standard for sound quality, even when the two-part column is equipped with twelve 3.5" neodymium full-range speakers and four 1" high-frequency drivers with waveguides. Phase plugs on the six upper drivers improve horizontal directivity, reduce distortion, and optimize sensitivity below the crossover frequency for the tweeters. Furthermore, the four tweeters feature specially designed and optimized compression drivers connected to a constant-directional waveguide, enabling 120° horizontal coverage and a focused 25° vertical directivity. The curved design of the waveguide directs more energy in the high frequencies to listeners at greater distances. For permanent installations or conference sound reinforcement, the TrueWireless™ Stereo function greatly simplifies operation. This technology enables wireless connection of two systems for stereo playback. Bluetooth® streaming in HD quality is easily possible thanks to aptX™ and AAC encoding, and DynX® DSP technology guarantees distortion-free sound reproduction even at the highest volumes. Overall and subwoofer levels are individually adjustable, allowing for perfectly balanced sound in any situation with crystal-clear highs, crisp mids, and particularly powerful bass thanks to the flow-optimized bass reflex channels. Another particularly user-friendly feature is the automatic setup detection of the MAUI® 44 G2 W: For example, if the column is removed to use the subwoofer as a follower, the display automatically switches to FOLLOWER, and functions such as Bluetooth and the volume controls for MAIN and SUB are no longer displayed. But the MAUI® 44 G2 W is also top-of-the-line when it comes to transport and mobile use. Setup is quick and easy, requiring no cables or stands, thanks to special multi-pin connectors. Together, the robust birch plywood subwoofer enclosure with a polyurea coating and the lightweight, powder-coated aluminum column weigh less than 48 kg. Compared to the previous model, the weight has been reduced by 20%. The optionally available transport dolly, carrying bag, and sub cover provide excellent everyday convenience. The MAUI® 44 G2 W offers two XLR inputs. Two XLR outputs allow for a wired stereo configuration of two systems. An additional subwoofer can be connected via the SUB OUT, and power is supplied safely and reliably via a PowerCon connector.
